Role Description

As Cappfinity mature we are positioning our product team to support the next phase of growth. A key element to this is the recruitment of an experienced Product Manager to take responsibility for the product offerings across a core business area. The ideal candidate will have experience of product management working with enterprise customers preferably on assessment or human resources products. With proven experience of market analysis you will be able to identify opportunities and guide robust research to validate them. You are able to oversee development of new products from ideation all the way to successful release. You will possess strong marketing skills and be able to work with marketing and sales teams to refine messages and help to shape go-to-market positioning. You will be comfortable working directly with engineering teams and other product roles in order to define, communicate and deliver a clear vision of the future.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the objectives of the overall business and coordinate the growth of a suite of product capabilities to support those objectives
  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
  • Analyse the competitive market and establish product positioning and capabilities to maintain differentiation in our offerings
  • Define and communicate a clear product strategy that can align multi-functional teams behind a common purpose
  • Manage the process of capturing user feedback and understanding the underlying needs behind them to ensure robust and effective solutions can be created
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the product team to establish flexible solutions that provide the opportunity for future extension
  • Establish and communicate product priorities and roadmap to multiple stakeholders
  • Establish clear product messaging and work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams on differentiating our products in the market
  • Collate and validate potential product ideas to maintain a pipeline of healthy innovation for future development
  • Identify opportunities to extend the product offering through integrations and partnerships in addition to new feature development

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of being responsible for the overall performance of a technology product or suite of products, ideally operating on a SaaS model
  • The ability to track, analyse and explain relevant product success across a range of metrics from performance and usage to financial
  • The ability to prioritise product features based on the long terms business strategy and objectives
  • The ability to make decisions based on the best interests of the product and company and give clear explanation for the rationale and evidence behind these
  • Experience of establishing and communicating product roadmaps to internal stakeholders and customers
  • Experience of identifying, validating and progressing new product capabilities to market
  • The ability to represent the products in commercial conversations and critically assess the product capabilities in response to new business opportunities
  • A willingness to step in and be present to internal and external stakeholders in the product and a genuine desire to deliver a successful product experience
  • An understanding of the importance of empathy with users and the processes involved in delivering a seamless user experience
  • Experience of working collaboratively with development and design teams on solution creation within agile development processes
  • Strong experience in a product management role
  • Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  • Highly effective cross-functional team co-ordination
  • Previous experience establishing and delivering product strategies and roadmaps
  • Exceptional writing and speaking skills with the ability to communicate to top-level management and senior customer stakeholders
